OBITUARY
Mrs. E. F. Chisholm
The death occurred suddenly at 'Wellington on June 7 of Mrs. Edith F. Chisholm, wife of Mr. Horace Chisholm, Palm Grove, Berhampore. The esteem and respect in which she was held was shown by the number of friends who attended a memorial service at the Berhampore Baptist Church, the building being crowded to overflowing. The service was conducted by the Rev. E. F. Sherburd and the Rev. L. A. North. Mr. J. N. Duncan was at the organ Speaking of the life and work of Mrs, Chisholm. Mr. North said that no one would ever know the number to whom Mrs. ■ Chisholm brought comfort and encouragement. To those who suffered or were lonely she took gifts of fruit, flowers, or delicacies. She was the recognized visitor for the Baptist Churches, but did not confine herself to Baptists alone —Hindus, MaoriSj Chinese and the lonely from far districts all benefitted by her companionship and cheer. She was associated with many women’s organizations, in which she held executive office, including the W-C.T.U., the Ladies’ Hospital Auxiliary, of which she was president last year. Mrs. Chisholm is survived by her husband and two sons, Mr. Horace Lee Chisholm, now serving overseas, who was for 12 years a member of the reporting staff of “The Dominion” and later on the staff of the “Melbourne Age,” and Mr. Wesley Chisholm, Palmerston North,
