EXCELLENT RESULT

Of the £1125/10/2 produced by the Air Force Comforts Day held last Friday in the Wellington district as part_of the Combined Patriotic Appeal. £959/12/9 came from the Wellington city collectors, £145/18/5 from Lower Hutt and £2O from Petone. The honorary secretary of the Wellington Metropolitan Patriotic Committee, Mr. Ward, in expressing the committee’s warm appreciation of the work of the women collectors and those who assisted them, said that the result was excellent, considering the unfavourable weather on Friday. v Several of the collecting boxes, Air. Ward stated, contained £1 notes, while one contained a cheque for £lOO from Mrs. Kain. Orchard Street. Wadestown.
