FOOD SUPPLIES

Need For International Control (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 23. The opinion that the organization of food supplies must continue under international control till the world situation became normal was expressed by Mr. IV. Mulholland, president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, addressing the annual conference of the Auckland Farmers’ Union today. - He declared that producers must make every effort to aid the cause of the Allied Nations. He reminded the conference of the ordeal of many British farjners under bombing, and said large numbers of landgirls had had to wear steel helmets. Speaking of the post-war outlook, he said it was obvious that millions of people would bo in a state of semi-stajyation, while others would face full starvation. The Dominion would experience a shortage of animal products and the stock position in Europe would be serious.
