INSIDE FINLAND

Civil War Possibility (From Godfrey Blunden, Special Correspondent.) STOCKHOLM. May 9. Finnish Army deserters expect civil war in Finland as a result of the rejection of Russia’s peace terms. Nine Finnish soldiers who reached Umea (Sweden) last night reported great unrest in Finland. They said the Finnish Army and people would attempt to eject the German Army, which was the real obstacle to pence. But this would be opposed by the Central Government, whose members were dominated by the Germans. The Finnish soldiers admitted that a Russian advance into the Baltic States, thereby cutting off German communications. would greatly alter the position in Finland. Walter Schemer, one of Hitler’s political fixers, arrived in Stockholm last night, and is said to be on his way to Finland.
