Territorial Congress The Territorial Youth Year Congress of the Salvation Army, which opened last Thursday with a welcome meeting for delegates in the Wellington Town Hall, continued on Friday with councils for officers in Ihc Vivian Street Citadel, local oilieers and soldiers participating in the night session. On Saturday afternoon an old identities' meeting was held- in the Citadel under the leadership of Commissioner J. Evan Smith. Retired officers.and veteran Salvationists took un active part. Tbe rally included an old-fashioned testimony period and the singing of early day Army choruses. Colonel C, Wall spoke of the great part the veterans had played in making the Army what it was today, and urged the younger generation to emulate their spirit ami deeds. At night a pageant of youth was held in the Town Hall. There were spectacular items by tbe Life Saving Guards from Christchurch and athletic displays by tile boys from the "Whatman Home, Mnsterton, mid the girls from the Owen Street Home, Wellington. There was also singing by selected companiesof young people, and marches by the Wellington City Baud. Yesterday three meetings in the Town Hall drew large congregations. In the afternoon a thanksgiving meeting was held, in which the Congress choristers, .the Wellington City and Petone Bands and the Petone young people took part. The Efficiency Guard Banner was presented to tlie <"iiristchureh City Troop by Commissioner J. .Evnn Smith, and Colonel C. Walls gave an inspiring address to modern youth. . A special meeting for women will lie hold in the Vivian Street Citadel tins afternoon, at which Commissioner \\ . L. Dnlziel, from Australia, will speak. Ihe final public assembly will lake Ph' ce 111 the Town Hall at night. This will be a musical festival in which the Congress choristers, the united bands of Wellington Citv. Wellington -South and Petone, and the Christchurch Life Saving Ummls will take part. Commissioner Dnlziel will be welcomed by the Ngati 1 oneke Young Maori Club and will give an address. The final item will be the "Hallelujah Chorus,” by the Wellington Citv Baud and the Congress Choristers, with .Mr. L. Sutton at Hie grand organ.
