Waterside Still Unbeaten
Waterside are showing out as the dominant team in the Wellington Association football first division competitions. They are the only team not defeated in the lour games to date. On Saturday they beat Railways. In other Venus Shield matches Hospital, now second t<j Waterside in the competition, drew with Moera Stop Out, Lower Hutt beat Comrades in a high-scor-ing match, and Marist beat Technical Old Boys. After rain in the morning the grounds were inclined to be slippery. Results of first division games are aS follows:— Venus Cup. Waterside 5, Railway 1. —Mildenhall (3), Longbottom and Watts scored for Waterside. and McKinley for Railways. Hospital 5, Moera Stop Out s.—Jeffery, Woods (3) and Trewick scored for Hospital. and Singer (2). Lowerby. Withes and Sharp for Moera Stop Out. Marist 6. Technical Old Boys 1. —Thompson (*2). Nunns, Irvine (2). and O’Malley, scored for Marist, and Hanchett for Technical Old Boys. - Lower Hutt 9, Comrades s.—For Lower Hutt, Preece (4). Brown (2), Du tide (2) and McPhee scored, and for Comrades, Gibson (3) and H. Scott (2). Power Cup.
Petono 4, Seatoun 4. —Scorers for Petone were Leslie (3), and Knott, and for Seatoun, Yeoman (3) and Jenkins. Railways 3. Petone Technical Old Boy* 3. —Rush scored all Petone Technical Old Boys’ goals, and Wood, Hughes and Reynolds scored for Railways. Diamond 2, Army I.—C. Webb and Claushton scored for Diamond, and Allan for Army. College 4. Air Force 3.
