Assistant Commissioner MR. G. T. BOLT APPOINTED The Acting Prime Minister, Mr. Sullivan, announced last night that following representations from the Public Service Association the Government had agreed to the immediate appointment of an Assistant Public Service Commissioner. Mr. Sullivan said that it had been decided to appoint Mr. G. T. Bolt to the new position, and this appointment was to take effect forthwith. Mr. Bolt has hold the position of Secretary to the Public Service Commisisoner for a number of years
A professional accountant by examination. Mr. Bolt has spent practically all of his Public Service career of 27 years in the office of the Public Service Commissioner. He has worked right through every stage of the Commissioner’s office and before receiving his appointment of Assistant Publie Service Commissioner was secretary to the Commissioner for about eight years. Before that he held the appointment of chief clerk in the Commissioner’s office. Mr. Bolt is an old boy of Wellington College.
