DAMAGES FOR INJURY TO RIGHT HAND
On a claim for £630, Hans Borchardt, factory band, was awarded by a jury in the Supreme Court, Wellington, £4SS/5/9 damages, including the full amount of special damages claimed, £35 5/9, against G. K. McKny, Ltd., tinware and sheet metal manufacturers. Plain tiff lost the tops of the first and second fingers of his right hand in a power press at which he was working in defendant <s factory. It was claimed that the press had been negligently allowed to get out of adjustment The defence was a general denial. , The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) was on the bench. Mr. C. J. O Regan appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. W. E. Leicester for defendant.
