PROTEST BY IRONMASTERS
The following resolution was carried unanimously at a recent meeting of the Wellington Hronmasters’ Association, and has a bearing on the statement recently made by the Acting-Prime Minister, Mr. Sullivan, to the effect that an organization to plan post-war reconstruction bad been set UP,:--’ r . , 'That the New Zealand Ironmasters Federation be requested to telegraph the Acting-Prime Minister protesting at tfae set-up of thp National Development Organization without adequate representation being given to the industry, and requesting that direct and adequate representation be afforded the engineering industry on any such organization that may be get up, and that it be pointed out that the engineering industry, is the basic industry, and the foundation on which all other industries must be built; and, furthermore, if is considered that the National Development Organization should be made representative of industries as a'whole and not confined to departmental officers.”
