JAILED POLISH JEWS

Further Developments LONDON, May 10. The Polish President, M. Rackiewicz, has cancelled the sentences of imprisonment recently imposed against the 30 Polish Jews by a Polish court-martial in Scotland, says the “Daily Express” diplomatic correspondent. The men are believed to have refused to accept release unless they are allowed to transfer to the British forces. It is unlikely that this condition will be accepted. The prisoners pleaded before the court-martial that they had deserted and tried to join the British forces because they had been victimized on account of their race. The sentences ranged from one to three_years’ imprisonment.
