OBITUARY

Mr. C. H. Carpenter The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mr. Cecil Hugh Carpenter, aged 72 years. Mr. Carpenter was born in Wellington and was associated with tannin" at Wanganui, Utiku, Marton, Loxtoo and Manakau, finally acquiring, a property at Karioi, King Country, in 191 L For many years he was an enthusiastic supporter of Rugby .football, and for 25 years he was a justice of the peace. Hi went-to Hamilton four years ago. He married in 1906 Miss Agnes Anderson. Mr. Carpenter was highly respected by the Maoris. He is survived by his wife, five sons, and two daughters. There are 12 grandchildren.
