FATALLY CRUSHED

Ship’s Officer In Car Accident (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 9. The chief officer of a ship in port was fatally injured about 2 o’clock this morning when he was crushed between a car and a roadside pole. He was Leslie Ranfurly Leeder. aged 46, married, of 19 Sumner Rond, Lyttelton. He was riding on the running board of a car. As it approached the intersection of Manukau Road and Great South Road it swerved and' Mr. Leeder was caught. He suffered spinal injuries and shock and died in the Auckland Hospital shortly after 4 o’clock.
