3800 SORTIES; 15 PLANES LOST

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 7. United States heavy bombers and fighters attacked military targets in France and Holland every day during the week ended May 6. With marshalling yards and aerodromes as the principal targets, over 1700 bomber sorties and 2100 fighter sorties were flown. Eleven aircraft were shot down by the bombers. Fighters destroyed 31 in combat. An additional number' of planes was destroyed on the ground and on the water by strafing. Five United States bombers and 10 fighters failed to return.
