Mr. A. H. Sinel Appointed General Manager The chairman of directors of the New Zealand Shipping Company Ltd., London, has cabled confirming the appointment of Mr. A. H. Sinel as general manager in New Zealand for the company. The following appointments have also been made: — Head office: Lieut.-Colonel F. W. Spite, traffic manager for New Zealand; Mr. F. W. G. Hoddinott, chief accountant: Mr. C. W. Phillips, chief clerk. Wellington branch: Mr. W. Tweedie, local manager; Mr. C. R. Riordan, local accountant. Lieut.-Colonel Spite will take up his duties when released from military service. Mr. Sinel joined the N.Z. Shipping Company as a junior at Auckland in 1897 and was appointed assistant manager at Auckland in 1916 and local manager in 1923. In 1932 he was promoted to traffic manager for New Zealand and local manager at Wellington. In February of this year he was appointed acting-general managter during the illness of the late general manager, Mr. C. M. Turrell.
