GERMAN NOTE OF PROTEST
LONDON, October 15. Germany, through the Minister to Portugal, has sharply protested, in a formal Note to Portugal, against Portugal yielding military bases in the Azores under British pressure, thus committing a serious breach of neutrality. Berlin radio, in announcing this, added : “The Reich reserves the right to take measures arising out of the changed situation.”
The radio also stated that Japan, too. had protested to Portugal, through the Minister at Lisbon.
