MANPOWER BREACHES
Breaches of the manpower regulations were dealt with by Mr. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, on Friday. Fines of £2/10/- each were imposed on William Matthews and Arthur John Barnes for falling to report for employment. For falling to register Heinrich Jurgensen was .fined £2 and Kathleen Chilton and Ngairi Allen Eustace, who was stated to be known as Hughes, each 30/--Mavis Hodge was fined £2 on each of two charges of employing a person without permission and was convicted and ordered to pay costs on a third similar charge,, A fine of £1 was imposed on Gladys Annie Smith for failing to notify a change o-f address. , _ , , . The magistrate, in a reserved decision, dismissed on technical grounds charges against William J. Walker, Ltd., o£ -employing persons without the consent of the. manpower authorities. Mr. W. J. Stacey appeared for the defence.
