BAPTIST UNION ASSEMBLY
The Gist annual assembly of the Baptist Union of N.Z. commenced in Wellington yesterday. Nearly 250 delegates responded to tlie roll call. The niinitnl report showed a total membership of 9509 with a net gain for the year of 31. Four new churches were received into affiliation with tho Baptist Union of N.Z., Masterton. Jlotoi-ua, Valley Road (Auckland) and Orakei. The llinuiond Jubilee Thanksgiving Appeal during the year hud been an outstanding erent, the goal of £lO,OOO being exceeded by £O3B. The Very Rev, Dean A. K. Warren addressed delegates op the .Princeton Confereiu.’C.
Tho B.W.M.U. aiinu.Tl public meeting was bold at 7.30 p.m. at. which the-new president. Mrs. I.onsdtile, wits inducted. Addresses were given by Dr. Nola Ivory and' Mrs. Bonsdale. Items were given by a combined B.W.M.U. choir. The Dominion uiinistei’B_ held their annual business meeting at 7 p.m. at the Bet'hamporc Baptist Church.
