METHODIST CHURCH

Wellington East Circuit The quarterly meeting of the Wellington East circuit of the Methodist Church was held at Lyall Bay recently, attended by 48 members. The chairman of the district. Rev. W. A. Burley who presided welcomed five new members. Reports showed that the circuit finances were in a healthy state. The income for foreign missions exceeded the target set down, and the home mission showed that money was coming in very well though some of the churches had not ’closed the fund yet. The number of senior members was 423, with 453 scholars in the Sunday Schools. The Rev. W. A. Burley was invited for a third year to the Ilataitai Church. The Rev R Thornley was invited to the Island Bay Church for a fourth year, the Rev R E. Patchett, for n third year to the Miramar Church, and the Rev. W. E. Falkingham for a second year to Muranui-Lyull Bay Church. Five delegates were elected lor the forthcoming Synod, Messrs. G. C Burton, N. R. S’eddon, D. Taylor, A. C. Barrington, and Mrs. Masters. Mrs. A. Bruce and Mr. J. C. Riddell were substituted. Miss Joan Young was re-elec-ted auditor.
