Dominion-Wide Interest Of W.D.F.U. Members

AVhen the Dominion advisory board of the AV.D.F.U. met in AVelliugton u few days ago, it completed plans for taking over a gift property in Nelson aud the purchase of a property in AVaimate, both of which will be used by the division as rest homes for its members*. Interest in these new acquisitions has been manifest throughout all branches in the Dominion, and the plan to take over the lovely homes and grounds has been enthusiastically endorsed by members. The Nelson property, “Afelrose,” is the gift of Colonel and Mrs. Noel Adams, Clevedon, Auckland. Airs. Adams is immediate past Dominion president aud the generosity of the gift is typical of many other instances of her interest in the movement. AVarm appreciation of Colonel and Airs. Adams’ gesture is felt by countrywomen everywhere. Tlie_ homestead with its large rooms, including 10 bedrooms, and set in spabious lawns, gardens and terraces, will prove, it is te.t, an ideal spot where tired women will be able to rest and eujoy a holiday. Airs. AV. Orr, Dominion president, w:t!i Colonel and Airs. Adams, will visit Nelson early in December for the purpose of meeting the local committee and making plans for setting up Melrose as a rest home. The advisory board has de cidecl to concentrate activities on the Kelson property before dealing with le Kiteroa, the AAaimate homestead, t-ia<. has been made available to the division at a moderate price. , c n,;Arrangements for the purchase of th,» property and of furniture are now in train, but iu the meantime nothing further will be done.
