Citizens’ Candidates

Alatters relating to the local body elections to be held in May, 1944, were considered at an executive meeting of the AVellington Ratepayers’ Association last night, which resolved: “That the representations recently made from suburban electors’ associations for co-operation with the AVellington Ratepayers’ Association in the local body elections in May next, be received and approved, and that the executive committee of the AA Tellington Ratepayers’ Association, together with co-opted members from the suburban associations, constitute for this purpose a unified body to he known as the Gita ter AVellington Ratepayers and Citizens’ Election Committee, the primary object of such committee to be the selection of candidates and the conduct of the campaign necessary to elect a citizens’ ticket.”
