Aviation Predicted

NEW YORK, October 10. The prediction that 500,000 planes would be operating in the United States within a decade and that -planes and helicopters would be carrying 20,000,000 passengers a year was made by Mr. William Burden, of the United States Department of Commerce, The world’s largest flying-lboat, the Martin “Mars,” has just completed a 32hour endurance flight covering 4600 miles, approximately the distance from Baltimore to Berlin., with 22 passengers. The “Mars” flew a test course between Baltimore and New York, landing with enough fuel for several hours’ more flying. The aircraft will be used as a transport.
