Appreciation From Middle East A number of letters were received by the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Committee yesterday from New Zealand soldiers in the Middle East acknowledging receipt of parcels. Writing on .July 4, Gunner H. Mug"■eridge said: “There is always a pleasant atmosphere when there is an issue ot paiceis. Everyone is happy, and there are smiles all round as the boys eagerly open their parcels. Sincere thunks to (be people of your district.” Driver M. Drever wrote: “I would like to acknowledge receipt of your generous gift parcel and to extend my sincere thanks to your committee and the people of Wellington province who work and contribute to make these gifts possible. Private W. D. T. Beavis wrote (on June 22) : “It is very nice and UOLS-it-ful the way the people of New Zealand are sending us chaps things which to us are luxuries. We appreciate it very much.” This soldier said the marine drive in Alexandria reminded him of Onenlai Bay, Wellington. Driver J. IL Park said the parcels arrived in good order, the articles included being totally unprocurable in the Middle ■East. He thanked the Patriotic Committee and the packers who help it. Lieutenant B. 11. Cabot wiote. An issue of patriotic- parcels has just been made to my. platoon, and as the supply included several forwarded by your com mittec, I take this opportunity of asking you to convey to the various menijers of your committee my own personal thanks and the thanks of every inember of my platoon for your share in this fine and very welcome effort toward making a soldier’s life a little more pleasant.
