Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH. October 10. K J Mackie last week was granted tne necessary permit to journey to Melbourne to ride The Joker in his spring engagements. He hopes to leave this week. ■Sal’s Pal was taken to Wingatui by A. S. Ellis and was handed over to his Gore trainer. J. Cochrane, who withdrew him at 11 a.m. from the Kaikorai Handicap. There was nothing wrong with the horse, who is likely to be taken to Timaru for uext Saturday’s meeting. . t , Bonny Flight was taken to AVingatul, but had to be withdrawn from the McLean Stakes owing to a cold contracted on the trlii.
