FLORAL BRIDGE PARTY

Not only were there masses, of lovely spring flowers at the “floral” bridge patty given by the Wellington Victoria League s bridge circle yesterday, but on each table fragrant shoulder-sprays were placed iu readiness for every guest as she arrived. All the flowers came from members’ gardens. The posies -were made from polyanthuses, primroses, anemones and other flowers, with maidenhair fern, and the room decorations were of crabapple, may and cherry blossom, kowhai, anemones and ranunculuses. . , The party was the circle s special effort for the Christmas cheer fund for the league’s servicemen’s clubs in Loudon. So successful was it that the 1 reception room was unable to accommodate all the players and some members arranged tables of players in their own homes. A home-made tea was served by the league committee. Mrs. K. Kirkcaldie made and gave the prize for a guessing competition. The party was arranged by Mrs. Hugh McGill, circle convener, Mrs. A Barnett arranged the flowers, Mesdaines L. F. Hunt, J. W. Nissen. U. ACorrigan and McGill made the posies and flowers were supplied by -Mesdames A. Mack, Bare, C. Goldsmith, North, K. L. Gibbons and McGill.
