RESULTS OF NAVAL ACTION

LONDON, October 7. Reuter's correspondent on board a cruiser with the Home Fleet reveals that the naval action against enemy shipping in the Bodo area, which was reported on Tuesday, resulted as follows:’ —-Au 8000-ton tanker was hit and left down by the stern and making for a beach; a 5000-ton freighter was hit three times by bombs and left with smoke pouring out of it; an 8000-ton freighter was left burning after it was hit; a loaded barge was bombed and run on to a beach; and a 500-ton freighter was left listing with the crew abandoning her. Other hits brought the total number of vessels hit to eight.
