A Light Type. Though it was his first run of the season, Master Dash was carrying no surplus when he raced at Hastings on Saturday. As a two-year-old he lightened up after" every race, and evidently he does not possess a solid constitution. For all that he Is a first-ejaes galloper when on bis form, and his juvenile record was above the average. An Important Date. Owners and trainers should note that Friday of next week, October 15, is an important date. On that date entries close, for the New Zealand Cup and the Auckland Cup.

With a few days of fine weather the Otaki track has dried up quickly and provided a firm surface for the gallops yesterday.
