ARMY OF OFFENSIVE

LONDON, October 6.

The Russians used well over 3,000,000 front-line troops in their summer offensive, says tiie British United Press military writer. Marshal Stalin’s orders of the day have mentioned 91 different infantry and 39 different Guards divisions, two airborne and six cavalry divisions, 24 tank and 15 motorized brigades, and 24 air force divisions. From these official announcements more than 300 divisions are known to have participated in the fighting, not including the huge force in the Leningrad area.

Official statements give another important fact. There has been only one mention of a Far Eastern division - The tremendous power of the Far Eastern army is untapped and remains as a deep reserve.
