Judgment 5 For £lO,OOO Against Watts
Judgment for £lO,OOO was entered by Mr. Justice Johnston, sitting in chambers yesterday, in favour of Woolworths (New Zealand) Ltd., on a claim'they had made against Raymond John s Watts, who is serving a sentence of three years and threo mouths’ reformative detention for offences committed as an employee of Woolworths. The company issued a writ claiming £17,610/4/9. A defence was filed and the claim was amended to one for £lO,OOO. Watts confessed judgment for this amount, and the company agreed to take judgment on that confession. His Honour’s judgment was in terms of -the confession. Mr. D. R. Richmond appeared for the company and Mr. G. Joseph for Watts.
