A fine of f2 and 10/- costs was inflicted by Air. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrates Court, AVellington, yesterday, on Aloily Antheii Wright, shop assistant, aged 30, on a charge of sly grog selling. Defendant pleaded guilty. Senior Sergeant G. J. Paine said defendant approached two servicemen outside a city restaurant on Monday ana offered to sell them liquor. A transaction took place, two bottles alleged to contain wine being sold for £1 each. Defendant was drunk and quite a scene occurred outside the restaurant and she was arrested. Defendant had been very drunk and did not know what she was doing, said Mr. T. A. Tarrant, who appeared for her. Her story was that the liquor had been taken from her.
