French patriots have destroyed three [lower stations which were of great importance to German armament works in France, says Algiers radio. The effect of this Iblow to the Germans is comparable to the R.A.F. raids on the Ruhr dams.
The Chalons-sur-Saone power-station, producing 250,000 kilowatts, of which 80 per cent, went to Germany and the remainder to the Le Creusot armament works, was blown up by delayed-action bombs. Patriots also destroyed a transformer station at Germellos, near Chalons-sur-Saone, and a great transformer station which directly served the Le Creusot plant. • Experts express tire opinion that the damage cannot lie repaired in less than six months.
