MEDAL OF MERIT FOR SCOUTMASTER

Acting in his capacity as Dominion Chief Scout. his Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Cyril New-all. has approved the award of the Boy Scouts Association’s Medal of Merit to Assistant County Commissioner Thomas Hugh Jenkin, of Invercargill, in recognition of his services to the scout movement. Mr. Jenkin begun his scouting career in London in 190-9. and, among other positions he has held in the boy scout movement, he has 'been scoutmaster iu Bridgewater, Somerset, South-west London, and Kent, district scoutmaster in Dunedin and sea scoutmaster of the Jellicoe Sea Scout Troop, Invercargill, which position he.still holds in addition to being Assistant County Commissioner for Sea Scouts in Southland.
