DAYLIGHT SAVING OPPOSED
SYDNEY, October 2.
Claiming that daylight saving prevents them from getting proper sleep in hot weather, the members of four lodges on the northern coalfields of New South Wales have decided to start work “by the sun” and not “by the clock.” Tlie Prime Minister, Mr. Curtin, has warned the miners that daylight saying, which starts at 2 a.m. tomorrow, is law and must not be defied. Complete disorganization will result unless the minnds attend for work under daylight saving time.
