Celebration In Sydney

New Zealanders in Sydney celebrated New Zealand's Dominion Day Avith a morning service in St. Columba Church, Woollaiira, and an evening service in St. Matthew's Church of England, Manly. . A flag of tile New Zealand Mounted Rifle Brigade was handed to the Church of St. Columba for safe keeping. This flag was with the Brigade in the Great War, in Egypt and through the Palestine campaign. . With the consent of the Archbishop or Sydney, Dr. H. W. K. Mowll, a New Zealand flag Avas presented to St. Matthews Church and dedicated by the Rev. Mr. Ebbs as a pei'iniinejit memorial emblematic of the appreciation of the people of New Zealand for lhe manner in which the Manly people and the Church of St. Matthew in particular have provided a homo for the New Zealand troops passing through Sydney. This flag .will‘be liung in association Avith flags of American and Australian origin which have already been presented to murk similar feelings of apprecintioii. . . Mr C. Minister of Agriculture, who represented the Premier of N.S.W.), Mr. IV. Taylor, Trade Commissioner lor N.Z., the mayor and mayoress of Manly, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hanson-Norman; Mrs. Linda Ferguson, hon. organizing secretarv. N.Z. Auxiliary War Unit, Lieut, and Mrs. R. Medland, and Mr. A. .Booth, president of the New Zealand AssoeiaThe Aolcarpa Voluntary Aid Detacifment, of Avhicli Mrs. E. Carlyle, lute of Dunedin, is commandant, also attended, together with the local Manly V.A.D.
