The following is a letter from the Polish Minister in Mexico received by Mrs Hislop :—“Mr. Henryk Stebelski, Polish Consul in Bombay, who charge of the transport of the Polish refugees, which travelled through New Zealand, told me with great esteem of the reception given to t ] he I . P °l ls k^ e pXu in Wellington. Ou behalf of the folisn Government I have the honour and take pleasure in expressing my gratitude for tlmreception and gifts offered to our refugees. This war has joined our two faraway countries in a mutual effort. One of the decisive battles of the, Libyan campaign, the battle of Gazala, has been w on through the joint effort of-the New Zealanders and the Poles. Let us hope that bonds of friendship conceived in. the present fight for a brighter and better future of humanity will last for ever.
