General Marshall To Set Up Headquarters (Received October 1, 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 30. High quarters confirm that General Marshall, the United- States Chief of Stuff, will soon establish headquarters in England to direct the Allied invasion of the Continent from the West, says.the London correspondent- of the "New York Times.” However, it is emphasized that General Marshall will command only, the forces which actually attack Europe from the west and will not supersede General Eisenhower, who will continue as com-mander-in-chief of his Allied forces till General Marshall’s armies from the west meet the armies from the . south, and thereby establish one continuous front against the Reich.
