MALTA DOCKYARD STRIKE

LONDON, September 29. Dockyards workers of Malta went on strike today following the announcement of the Government's decision on their application for an increased war bonus. Seventeen thousand workers struck lor six days last month, but returned to work after a conference had been called by tlie Governor, Lord Gort. The Government agreed to increase subsidies for certain rationed goods, in view of the higher cost of living, and made a concession in regard to the minimum wage demanded. The workers consider the wnires are still inadequate.
