WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Island Bay Still Leads
Unsettled weather played havoc with basketball matches in Wellington on Saturday. Earlier in the week, several byes had to be declared because of one ground not being available; then, with a wet day, there were seven defaults, and one ground steward cancelled two games. Some of the differences in scores were the result of teams playing only six or. seven girls. It was a disappointing day all round The final games were stopped for about five minutes because of a heavy shower, and when they resumed the ground was very wet, and the ball exceedingly heavy and hard to handle. The following are the results:-— ■ ■ Senior A: Island Bay '(10), V.U.C. (13); Kia-ora (27), Training Coll. (5); W.E.O.G. (10), V.U.C.
