COMEDY PRESENTATION

French Club Meeting

At the last meeting of the Circle Fraucais in Wellington the programme was arranged by’ Mme. Finlayson. The principal item was the presentation of the comedy “Dr. Knock,” by the modern writer Jules Romains. Dr. Knock, played by Mr. P. Maeaskill, an unscrupulous and ambitious doctor, takes up a practice in a healthy country ■ district but succeeds by .the skilful use of psychology in turning all the country folk into hypochondriacs, to his own financial advantage. Other players in the cast were Professor Boyd-Wilson, Professor Miles, Professor Gordon, Messrs. Griffin, Twaddle and Benge. Mesdames Jeffries and Finlayson and Misses Reveirs Huntington, McLay and Crompton. Guests were received by Madame du Chateau and the conversation class was conducted by Madame Logrc.
