ENEMY REPORTS
Attempted Allied Landing On Lampedusa LONDON, June 8. The German and Italian radios report an attempted landing last night by an Allied force at Lampedusa Island. Ine action is variously described as an effort to seize the island and a commando raid. About 12 miles square, Lampedusa Island lies 88 miles east of Tunisia and 113 miles south of Sicily. It is the site of an enemy air base, and till recently was often mentioned in the ‘Allied bombing communiques. '
