PRISON SENTENCE
Bolton-Moss Case Leonard Bowley Bolton-Moss, company director, aged 40, was sentenced by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) in the Supreme Court, YVellington, yesterday, to two years and six months’ imprisonment at hard labour on each of five charges of theft, the sentences to be concurrent. The Chief Justice remarked that though the sum concerned in the five charges amounted to approximately £lO5O. it appeared from the depositions that the real sum was something. like £9I4G. Mr. W. 11. Cunningham, who represented tlie Crown, said accused had misappropriated about £3OOO from Hamiltons (Australia and New Zealand) Limited. There were 120 odd subscribers to the luminous paint syndicate, ami accused had put all the money into Hamiltons. Some of the money had been used for overhead expenses, and for paying prisoner's salary.
