(Received January 27, 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 27. A now Australian Federal wages tax in addition Io the existing income tax wi.l be imposed on incomes from £lOl a year. The first deduct oils of the new tax wi.l l»p made as from April 1. ’lhe extra taxation will start al <>d. in the pound, and will increase to a maximum of 1/6 in the pound, lhe revenue, which is expect cd to amount, to £ 10,000.000 a year will eventually be used mainly for new socitil services, but temporarily will be used to assist the linaiwe of the w:ir.
