R.A.F. Scatters His Ashes In Channel (British Ollicinl Wireless.) (Keceivcd January 26, 5 pan.)_ RUGBY, January 2;>. R.A.F. fighters flew over the English Channel today, but not. as usual to meet the enemy. They flew to scatter on the sen the ashes of Flight Lieutenant Richard Hojie Hillary, Battle of Britain pilot, and aulltor of “The Last Hope,” who was almost burned to death and came back to light. Simultaneously, a memorial service hold in St- Martin’s-in-Fields was held by all ranks of the Air Force, also members of the Margate lifeboat crew which rescued Hillary when be was shot down over two years ago. Canon Elliot, in an address, said that Hillary was a man of outstanding courage. He showed unconquerable spirit in hospital and came back to overcome the “last enemy’’ in the air.
