ELLERSLIE TRACK WORK

Dominion Special Service. AUCKLAND, January 26. A smart five furlongs by Cherry's Ticket who defeated British Mint, and a solid six furlongs by Phaleron and Corot were features of the training operations at Ellerslie today. The course proper, poles 50ft.. was used for galloping. The going was good, eased by recent rain. Cherry's Ticket went smoothly in defeating British Mint over live furlongs in 1.5. She is in capital order and it should not be for lack of condition it she falls to race prominently on Saturday. She has not had the best of the luck in her latest outings.

Phaleron shaded Corot over six furlongs in 1.18 1-5. It was a sound effort, and they are in good trim. Kara Avia was responsible for the best four furlongs by running 51. He is very bright and muscular. though ho has not raced for several months. Landveyor worked nicely over a round in 2.11. the last seven furlongs tn 1.34. He is in good heart and looks ready for solid effort in the Takapuna Cup. Sir Cameron defeated Catrine over a mile in 1.40 1-5. The firm tracks at Ihe summer meetings have not been in his favour.

Foxlore covered a round in 2.14 3-5, the last seven furlongs in 1,37 4-5. Other gallops were:— Four furlongs: Master Cameron boat Glyndwr in 54: Purple Vermeer 53; Wee Pa’v 52 2-5: Kraal 53: Sund 53: Richelieu and Gay Winkle 52 3-5: Clinch 51 2-5 (from seven to three furlongs; Chatmoney. British Victory and Katie Scarett 53 2-o: Golden Bonnet 52J. Five furlongs: Royce and Gynella I.S; I,adv Oralono 1.6 1-5: Victory Lass bent Camilla 1.6 1-5; Red Warden 1.6 3-5. Six furlongs: Penny whistle and Travaneore 1.19 4-5: Hunting King and Kill Fust limit Muster Warden 1.22; Dependable and Gold Age 1.22 1-5; Transcend 1.1.9 4-5.
