STRONG JAP RESISTANCE IN BURMA
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 20. An India communique states that, •strong enemy resistance continues in Arakan. Blenheims bombed the village of Padali on January 19. Enemy fighters were encountered and combats occurred between these and the escorting fighters. One Japanese plane was destroyed ami others were damaged. Our planes all returned. Another attack was made oa Rathedaung later in the day and also on positions nearby and on water transport elsewhere. The aerodrome at Meiktila was attacked on January IS.
