GERMANY AND JAPAN

Economic Treaty Signed (Received January 21, 11.55 p.m.) LONDON. January 21. Germany and Japan yesterday signed an economic treaty which is similar to the Italian-Japanese treaty signed in Rome. These treaties were given a special announcement from Herr Hitler’s headquarters, which explained that the treaties supplemented and extended the Tripartite Pact among the three nations nnd ratified’the continuance of long-term economic planning among them. The announcement, added: “Hereby the great economic spheres of Europe and Asia are to be exploited with all their strength for total war against our enemies. Simultaneously there is being created the basis for post-war economic collaboration among the three countries.”
