BUILDING BAN LIFTED
Urgent Defence Work For Southland
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, January 20.
'The ban on the issue of building permits for private dwellings lias, been lifted, according to advice received in Invercargill today from the .Minister of Public Works. 'The .Minister said lie had arranged with the Commissioner of Defence Construction to allocate urgent defence work covering 5.000,000 feet of timber to Southland builders.
