CHANGE DECIDED ON

B.A. And B.Sc. Degree

Examinations

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, January 19.

The Senate of the University of New Zealand decided, on the recommendation of the Academic Board, to ask the university colleges to undertake the work of examining for .Stage II subjects in B.A. and B.Sc. degrees in the same way as, and under similar conditions to, the provisions now applying to the “internal” system of examining for Stage I subjects. When a recommendation for extension of this “internal” system of examining was before the Senate, objections were riased by some delegates who thought that examination by external authorities was more desirable. Other delegates, however, maintained that an* improvement in the standard had already been revealed in classes where the internal examining system was operating.
