ROYAL CHORAL UNION CONCERT

The Royal Wellington Choral Union will present a progtamme of unusual interest at the second concert of the IJ4L season. A chorus and orchestra of over 200 people, under the direction of Jlr. Stanley Oliver, will be hoard at the Technical College Hall on Saturday next at b p.m. The programme will include Alfred Hill’s cantata,. “Hiuemoa.” This work, rich in melody and remarkable for its sound musicianship, is 100 rarely beard in full in New Zealand. Such principals ns Mrs. Merle Gamble, Mr. Owen Bonifant, and Mr. Ken Macauley, should give "Hiuemoa” the distinction it deserves. The second part of the programme will be devoted to Stanford's “The Revenge,” for chorus and orchestra, which was last heard in Wellington about 1907. ,
