SIX SHOPS ENTERED
Burglars Still Active In Wellington Burglars are still operating ju the districts surrounding Kilbirme, Wellington. Ou Tuesday night, six shops in Newtown and Miramar were broken into, but only about IG/7 was stolen In every ease the thieves entered through the front door by forcing the lo:ks with a crowbar. .., •, .. i A tobacconist’s shop in Adelaide Road, Newtown, was broken into, and 1/7 in pennies was stolen from the cash register, which was forced open, lhe thieves entered two more shops in Newtown, but no money or goods were taken, though a considerable amount of silver was hidden in one of them. In Miramar, a dairy m Caledonia Street was entered and auout 15/- in sixpences mid threepences was stolen. A greengrocery shop nearby was also entered, but no money or goons were taken. Two drinks were consumed in a sweet shop next door to the Capitol Theatre. Miramar, which was also broken into, but im money was stolen.
