Porter, president of the residential nursery, was in the chair, and congratulated the branch on its successful year. The secretary, Mrs. \ . AUe “> reporting on the work, stated that tne branch began activities in March, most ot the committee giving individual elioits, as well as the president, who helped eaeli week. The treasurer, Mrs. Maxwell, read the balance-sheet, which showed that in eight months, £273/4/10 had been raised with expenses amounting to only ]d Jn’ seconding the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mrs. Porter paid Inga tribute to the organizing ability and initiative of the leader, Mrs. Dunn. Generous gifts for patriotic purposes were made during the year, without allowing the work of the nursery to be neglected. Gifts for November were: £lO to the Bed Cross, £lO to the Metropolitan Patriotic Society, £lO to the Merchant Naw, £5 to the Makogai leper station, £u to the U.S.A., and £5 to the Dree Ambulance. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. 11. Dunn; secretary, Mrs. V. Alien; treasurer, Mrs. A. Maxwell; vice-presidents, Mesdames Bradley, Garder am! Grant. The retiring committee was returned. The president entertained those present at afternoon tea.
